Lion conservation mission showcases TUT alumna’s impact in the wild
Tracking one of South Africa’s most important free-roaming lion populations has become part of daily life for TUT alumna, Nonkululeko Mokobong, who is helping to lead critical conservation work in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. As a field technician with the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT), she forms part of a team conducting a three-month lion population census that will support conservation planning and long-term ecosystem management across South Africa and Botswana.
New TUT Alumni Forum opens doors to mentorship, careers and community impact
New opportunities for mentorship, employment, entrepreneurship and community impact are set to grow following the launch of the City of Tshwane (CoT)/TUT Alumni Forum on 28 August 2026. The initiative brings graduates, industry leaders and community stakeholders together to support students, strengthen professional networks and turn knowledge into meaningful opportunities.
