30 January 2026

The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) takes serious note of recent allegations of bribery and the ‘selling’ of spaces at the University.

In terms of the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, offering, soliciting, or accepting any bribe is a serious crime.

TUT’s anti-fraud and anti-bribery policies are fully aligned with the provisions of this Act.

To this end, the University is currently investigating each allegation of bribery, fraud and/or corruption which has been brought to its attention, with a view to bringing the culprits to book and preventing the continuation of the unlawful and unethical actions alleged.

We are grateful to the vast majority of our students, staff and parents who conduct themselves ethically and follow the correct procedures. We encourage all prospective and existing students, parents and TUT staff members to continue doing the right thing and to follow the proper procedures.

We call upon whistleblowers to assist our investigations by reporting cases anonymously on our ethics hotline: 086 110 2421.
