Malatjie founded the company in 2023 after enrolling at TUT, where he discovered the potential of creativity, independence and innovation in the digital space. Originally from Khujwana Village in Tzaneen, Limpopo, he drew on resilience and an early entrepreneurial mindset shaped by his upbringing by a single mother with a passion for business.

He launched the studio using some external funding and small-scale business efforts, including selling atchar, to raise capital. With limited resources and a clear vision, he built the company. Noko Entertainment Studio has since grown into a Level 1 BEE multimedia company focused on technology-driven storytelling.

The studio produces motion graphics, animated explainers, virtual studio productions and digital visuals that communicate complex ideas in engaging ways. It also develops animated educational content to simplify subjects such as mathematics for school learners, showing a commitment to education and innovation.

Malatjie expanded the business by launching NokoFM, a digital broadcasting platform focused on youth engagement, interviews and live outside broadcasts. The platform has activated at school events and career expos, creating links between media education and communities while giving young people a voice.

Noko Entertainment Studio supports student development within the Faculty of ICT by offering internships, workshops and hands-on project experience. Using tools such as After Effects Unity Blender and Adobe production software, it equips students with practical skills for the digital media industry.

Malatjie blends creativity innovation and entrepreneurship to position Noko Entertainment Studio as a strong example of student-led impact at TUT. The company continues to grow while contributing to the University’s role as a hub for digital innovation and technological advancement.
