Dear TUT Student,
“If you can’t fly, run; if you can’t run, walk; if you can’t walk, crawl; but by all means keep moving.” Martin Luther King Jnr
Here you are, half way towards the end of the 2026 academic year. From this vantage point we can look back and marvel at how we rose into this academic year like lions. If you are tempted to mistake the half way point for the destination point, the mid-year examinations are here to remind you of what must still be accomplished, before the 2026 academic year is up.
Between you and the end of the academic year, stands several mountains of tests and exams. The May-June examinations are one such a mountains. As I write to you, there is no doubt in my mind that the entrepreneurial education you have been receiving at TUT has given you everything you need not only to excel in the mid-year examinations but to proceed from first year to first job with confidence.
As a student of the entrepreneurial University that is TUT, I urge you to go on and take your exams by the scruff of the neck. Now is the time to fly academically towards the end of the year exams. And if you can’t fly, run; if you can’t run, walk; if you can’t walk, crawl; but by all means you have to excel in these examinations and in that way, keep moving from good to great.
Sincerely,
Prof Tinyiko Maluleke
Vice-Chancellor and Principal
