Located in Pretoria, TUT’s Faculty of Arts & Design offers a vibrant learning environment for aspiring artists, designers, performers, and communicators. It is home to five dynamic departments: Fine & Studio Arts, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Performing Arts, and Visual Communication.
Our programmes are designed to be locally relevant and internationally competitive, equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and professional mindset needed to excel in creative industries worldwide.
All programmes offer structured career-focused progression, from Higher Certificates and Diplomas at entry level to Advanced Diplomas, Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees. Higher Certificates provide practical foundational skills, while Diplomas lay a solid foundation for employment and further study. Advanced Diplomas deepen understanding in specialised areas, and Postgraduate Diplomas prepare graduates for professional practice, academia, and higher-level research.
The Faculty embeds entrepreneurship, decolonisation, and Africanisation in all programmes, integrating local and context-specific knowledge systems across visual art, design, dance, film, music, photography, theatre, and performance. Programmes also keep pace with international trends, ensuring graduates are globally aware and career-ready.
