TUT AREC Meeting Dates
Applications and revisions must reach the TUT AREC administrator no later than 14 working days before the next meeting to be considered for the agenda. Currently the TUT AREC meets at least 8 times per year. TUT AREC meeting dates are published at the beginning of each year.

Post approval active and passive monitoring Final reports and Facility inspections
Progress reports must be sent to the TUT AREC as per schedule indicated on the Final approval document but at least every 12 months.
If inspections or active monitoring visits are indicated, it is the researchers’ responsibility to contact the TUT AREC and make arrangement timeously.
A Final report must be submitted to close a project at the end of the research period but before graduation of a student.
If reports are not submitted timeously, a project will be suspended by the TUT AREC and any activity must stop until the situation has been rectified.
Progress reports, final reports and minor amendments can be completed using the following form:
Serious adverse events or non-compliance of researchers must be reported to the TUT AREC immediately using the incident report form
Facility inspections
Any facilities under TUT auspices which keeps animals for research or teaching must be registered with the TUT AREC and will be inspected by TUT AREC at least once a year. An inspection report will be issued after each visit. Any facility used to conduct animal related research even if it is outside of TUT might need to be inspected by TUT AREC and researchers are encouraged to facilitate these activities proactively.
