Faculty of Information and Communication Technology

The Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at TUT is the only dedicated, stand-alone Faculty of ICT in South Africa, which puts it in a singular position to focus research, innovation, and curriculum development purely within the discipline of digital technologies.  Renowned as a preferred source of talent for the ICT industry, we take pride in nurturing graduates who are not only equipped with cutting-edge technical skills but are also visionary thinkers, innovators and problem-solvers.

As the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) transforms the global landscape, ICT remains the driving force behind progress, revolutionising how industries operate, how societies connect, and how knowledge evolves.  The Faculty of ICT is at the forefront of this transformation, engaging in groundbreaking research and pioneering projects that harness the power of emerging technologies to address real-world challenges.

From Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to Cybersecurity, Data Science, Virtual Reality, the Internet of Things, Image Processing, Business Computing and Systems Integration, our diverse academic and research portfolio ensures that our graduates are not only future-ready but are shaping that future themselves.
