Language is a distinctive human gift, significant to our experience of being human. Appreciating its role in creating our intellectual lives carries us one step nearer to understanding the very nature of humanity. The Department of Applied Languages studies at TUT is mostly based on various aspects of language including, applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, language management, language planning, language promotion, ethnolinguistics, translation practice and literature.
In short, Language Practice is a study on aspects of language that are implicated in people’s interaction, their construction and articulation of identities and own realities as well as how they affirm their sense of “self”. If you are passionate about languages, then look no further.
