The Diploma in Fine and Applied Arts is a unique qualification with elective options offered at no other South African tertiary institution. This qualification enables you to specialise in any two of the following disciplines: Ceramics, Fibre Arts, Glass, Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking and Surface Design. Work-Integrated Learning components make this a career-focused programme that optimises opportunities for vocational excellence, cross-disciplinary originality and practice-based innovation, and will enable you to become a fine artist, innovative designer, crafter, product developer or an entrepreneur contributing to the creative industries and
the economy.

CAREER PROFILE
The prospective student should have an interest in and understanding of the wider visual arts industry. Students develop a personal language and their own processes, ideas and content, together with creative, technical and critical skills. The course enables the development of an authentic, personal approach to art making, relevant to contemporary art and discourse, in preparation for a chosen career in the visual arts industry.
