The Division of Student Affairs and Extracurricular Development at the Tshwane University of Technology strives to be an innovative contributor to a vibrant university community through the holistic development of students, to enable them to succeed academically as socially responsible catalysts of social re-engineering. The Division is actively engaged in promoting student success and supporting student well-being through various programs within its directorates. We are tirelessly working towards the development of a stimulating vibrant campus life that is supportive yet thought-provoking for students.
The Division has since 1 June 2014, increased from four to five directorates, namely the Directorate of Health and Wellness, Directorate of Sport and Recreation, Directorate of Extracurricular Development, Directorate of Student Governance and Leadership Development, and the Directorate of Accommodation, Residence Life and Catering.
You have registered with an excellent University and our office aims to help you make the best of your time with us. The Division’s programs are aimed at enhancing student success, learning and the overall quality of campus life in a student-centred environment.
As you embark on a new academic year at TUT, it is important to maintain a balance between your academic and extracurricular development activities.
You must seize opportunities for self-development and use the facilities and programs at your disposal fruitfully.
You should also participate in intellectual discourse on issues of the day, but at the same time, respect diversity and show respect to fellow students and staff members.
We are here for you and we will respond to any queries that the students and parents bring to our attention; and it is for that purpose that we encourage our students to contact us any time, in the interest of their education. We will support you if you have been affected, either directly or indirectly by violence or assault, harassment of any kind, family crises, disability, or issues relating to substance abuse.
You are invited to visit our offices, take a tour of our facilities, and interact with our SAED staff who would be pleased to advise you on choosing an appropriate extracurricular program suitable for your background, aptitude and future career aspirations.
We wish you the best on your future educational and professional careers.
