Prof Adisa Jimoh received his first degree, a Bachelor of Engineering with first class honours in Electrical Engineering from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria in 1977.  A few years later, in 1980, he received his Master of Engineering (M.Eng) from the same university with a study on Electrical Engineering with specialisation in Electric Power and Machines.

He then proceeded to Canada as a Commonwealth scholar to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario in 1986.

Prof Jimoh’s career started as a pupil electrical engineer at the Nigerian Cement Factory, Nkalagu, during his one year of National Youth Service in 1977.  Thereafter he began his lecturing and academic career as a graduate assistant at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria.
