Prof Dakora completed his PhD degree in Botany in 1989 at the University of Western Australia. He works on Biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) with a focus on the plant, the i​nteraction between microbe and host plant, as well as the microsymbiont itself.

Professor Mammo Muchie did his undergraduate degree in Columbia University, New York, USA and his postgraduate MPhil and DPhil in Science, Technology, and Innovation for Development (STI&D) from the University of Sussex, UK. He is currently a DST-NRF research chair in Innovation Studies at the Faculty of Management Sciences, Tshwane University of Technology and a C rated research Professor.

​Professor Maggy Momba holds a BA degree in Education, BSc Honours and MSc degrees in Biology, MSc and PhD degrees in Microbiology. Prof Momba conducts research activities on various aspects of water with emphasis on drinking water purification and wastewater management, health-related water microbiology and bioremediation. After 28 years of specializing in the field of water research, she is a National Research Foundation (NRF) C1 Rated Scientist.​

Professor Christian Wolkersdorfer is a mining hydrogeologist with 27 years of experience in mine water geochemistry, hydrodynamics, geothermal applications and tracer tests.

Prof Djouani is a full Professor, scientist and technical group supervisor of pattern recognition, soft computing, networking systems and Robotics at University Paris Est-Creteil (UPEC) seconded to Tshwane University of Technology.

​Prof Sivakumar has started her career at the Tshwane University of Technology as an Associate professor in 2010. She developed the research area in postharvest technology and the curriculum at the Department of Crop Sciences.

​Prof Jonathan Okonkwo is the Rand Water Research Chair in Organic Chemistry at the Department of Environmental, Water and Earth Sciences, Faculty of Science. The Chair was awarded to the university by the Rand Water. This is an impressive achievement, not only for Prof Okonkwo, but for TUT as well, being the University of Technology awarded with this Research Chair. He is an NRF C1 rated researcher.​

​Prof Adisa Jimoh received his first degree, a Bachelor of Engineering with first class honours in Electrical Engineering from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria in 1977.  A few years later, in 1980, he received his Master of Engineering (M.Eng) from the same university with a study on Electrical Engineering with specialisation in Electric Power and Machines.​

The Chair was awarded to the university by the Rand Water. ​​Amira Osman is a Sudanese/South African architect, researcher, academic, activist, public speaker, and author. She is a Professor of Architecture at the Tshwane University of Technology and holds the position of SARChI: DST/NRF/SACN Research Chair in Spatial Transformation (Positive Change in the Built Environment).
