Core Objectives

The Student Recruitment team works closely with schools, teachers, parents, government, non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders to provide information with a view to attracting the most academically able students. The team keeps the public well informed about the University's programmes and activities by:​​

  • Presenting at high schools 
  • Conducting career exhibitions such as, 
    • CEIA exhibitions 
    • School career days 
    • Mini career expos 
    • Private career shows 
    • Government’s career events 
  • Giving talks at Parents’ Evenings 
  • Attending Commercial & Industrial Recruitment Fairs 
  • Conducting individual and group consultations (learners & parents) 
  • Attending community-based career events (NGOs & church events) 
  • Engaging prospective students through social media 
  • Conducting contact visits to establish and nurture relationships with strategic role players (career centres, science centres, career counsellors, etc.)
  • Partnering with faculties on specific recruitment drives
  • Fostering partnerships with strategic stakeholders in the public sector (DoBE, SAASTA, DTI, Education districts, municipalities, libraries, etc.)​
