TUT Update: 5 March 2019
Activities at the Tshwane University of Technology remains suspended tomorrow, 6 March 2019.
Dear TUT stakeholder
Activities at the Tshwane University of Technology remains suspended tomorrow, 6 March 2019. The decision follows the suspension of all activities at TUT campuses on Monday, 4 March 2019 due to renewed student protest action at all campuses. The safety of students, staff and TUT resources is our first priority, which informed the decision.
The current protest action is related to NSFAS meal allowances, in terms of DHET’s Circular 6. This is a national policy matter and not within TUT’s authority.
Management is actively engaging with DHET, NSFAS and other important role-players towards resolving the current impasse.
The University would like to apologise for the inconvenience the current situation has caused.
