Coach Kennedy Tsimba’s side left it for the second half when they clashed against a hungry FNB Rhodes in a highly competitive match at the TUT Stadium. Rhodes took command in the first 10 minutes by putting pressure on  the Vikings in their own half. They were rewarded with a penalty to take a 3-0 lead. It wasn’t long before the FNB Vikings got their first try and took the score to 7-3 in the first quarter. The half-time score was 14-10 following a try by  both sides after the first break.

Few personnel from both sides were introduced on the second half. The Vikings dominated  the second half, scoring a converted try within the first 5 minutes. An experienced Rhodes Fullback, Callum Momberg, who showed exceptional decision-making and kicking execution throughout the game, made life quite difficult for the Vikings.

However, sheer determination helped the  Vikings  score an additional try to make it 28-16 in the last 10 minutes. Centre, Dieter Groenewald, made it 4/4 conversions, ensuring the Vikings could  secure a bonus point.
