With all hands on deck, the Faculty will build on the valuable knowledge it gained from its past successful festivals to offer the public a unique festival experience.
“By combining resources, we will host workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations, fashion shows, a student film fest, open studios, and performances that encompass all facets of the arts, from the design and fine art disciplines, to the performing arts. In this way, we will provide our patrons with a glimpse into how we make knowledge work. It will allow participants to engage with the Faculty, thereby building new relationships that will ultimately grow the creative economy,” says Prof Nalini Moodley, Executive Dean, Faculty of Arts and Design.
“Through the Festival we celebrate and showcase the remarkable talent of our staff and students. The Festival forms part of the Faculty's dynamic, cutting-edge teaching and learning curricula and creates an ideal platform for students to put their knowledge into practice, through this experiential learning opportunity,” Prof Moodley adds.
“Patrons will also step out of their reality and enter our multiverse for a first-of-its-kind immersive experience, where we push boundaries to explore the future world of work. Come and experience the 4IR in action,” she continues.
The Festival programme will start at 09:00 daily until 16:00.
