Y-rated researcher to boost TUT’s Informatics research

Dr Tope Samuel Adeyelure, a distinguished scholar and senior lecturer at the Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Informatics has just received a Y-rating from the National Research Foundation (NRF). 

Dr Tope Samuel Adeyelure receives the Emerging Researcher of the year 2019/2020, during TUT’s 2021 Academic Excellence Awards from Dr Vathiswa Papu-Zamxaka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research, Innovation and Engagement.

Dr Adeyelure, who specialises in Computer Science and Data Processing (Business Information Technology), obtained his PhD from TUT. The objective of his study, entitled Mobile Business Intelligence Deployment Framework for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Information Communication and Technology sector: Case of South Africa and Nigeria, was to develop such a framework for small and medium enterprises in developing countries (Case of South Africa and Nigeria)

Dr Adeyelure has published six journal articles and nine peer reviewed conference papers. Furthermore, he has supervised ten Master’s students and one Doctoral student, who is currently at the examination stage.

His research interests include Business Computing, Management, and Innovation, Education Technology, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things of Everything. He looks forward to contributing much more to the academic literature in his research interest areas. 

Dr Adeyelure said one of the highlights of his career was when he received the award for Emerging Researcher of the year 2019/2020, during TUT’s 2021 Academic Excellence Awards.
