TVET lecturers receive coding and robotics training at TUT

9 December 2022

The Tshwane University of Technology’s Departments of Mechatronics and Computer Science, in partnership with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) concluded yet another successful coding and robotics workshop for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College lecturers, today, 9 December 2022.

The aim of the ongoing workshop is to equip TVET lecturers with the necessary skills to thrive in their classrooms, and to come up with new ways that keep students engaged on coding and robotics.  The workshop also provided lecturers with an in-depth understanding of the pedagogical and practical implications related to the use of technology in teaching and instruction through the exploration of practical examples and modern theory.

The two departments, together with DHET have committed to continue empowering lecturers with necessary skills that will contribute to the development of future-ready graduates in South Africa.
