The annual Academic Excellence Awards ceremony is the institution’s most prestigious celebration of outstanding contributions in Teaching, Learning and Technology (TLT), Higher Education Development and Support (HEDS), as well as in Research, Innovation & Engagement (RI&E).
And yet, between and among the red army of TUT staff members, there are some who performed exceptionally well, from one year to the other, these awards are dedicated to the recognition of those kinds of staff members in the applicable period of 2021/2022.
Included among these stars, are lecturers, associate professors, and professors whose approach to and impact in, teaching has been phenomenal. In addition, staff members whose commitment to life-long learning has seen them complete their next level of qualification, including those who obtained M’s and D’s in the applicable period, will also be celebrated.
Prof Tinyiko Maluleke, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal said the University was proud of the research and innovation stars, for pushing themselves to the limit and in the process helping to grow our global stature as a research and innovation hub. “The exceptional colleagues whom we will recognize tomorrow are those who personify and exemplify the TUT commitment to excellence.
He further said that “these kinds of dedicated colleagues are not mere speakers who are not doers, but by dint of their research and teaching outputs, they are moving TUT from good to great. It is with pride and delight that the Tshwane University of Technology is recognizing these high-performing and exceptional colleagues.”
