Dr Shadrack Nthangeni, is one of the seven appointments on the boxing SA board by the minister of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture.
In an interview with Dr Nthangeni he said, it is indeed a rare opportunity to be appointed to the New board of Boxing South Africa by the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, the Honourable Nathi Mthethwa. He will serve until December 2023.
According to Dr Nthangeni, Boxing is one of the biggest sports in the country and has a rich history. Dr Nthangeni, who is one of seven members appointed. They went through a rigorous selection process and were ultimately recommended for appointment by the Minister.
Dr Nthangeni who hails from Khubvi Village in Venda, Limpopo Province brings a wealth of experience to the Boxing South Africa Board, especially in the areas of sport development, strategic leadership, finance, marketing and women in sport, which all formed part of his Masters dissertation. He will also assist the Women in Boxing subcommittee.
In 2020, Dr Nthangeni was also appointed to serve in the CATHSSETA REMCO as an Independent member until 2025. He currently serves in the NEC of USSA as its CFO until 2023. In addition, he was appointed as Deputy Chef de Mission to lead the South Africa Student Team to the World Student Games in Chengdu, China scheduled for the 18-28 August 2021.
Dr Nthangeni Successful completed the corporate governance and board effectiveness, as well as King IV in the public sector training, offered by the Institute of Directors in South Africa to sharpen his oversight skills.
