South Africans who wish to study computer sciences at the University will be pleased to know that TUT is among seven universities in the country that made it onto the list of leading computer science universities in the world. These are TUT, Stellenbosch University (SU), University of Cape Town (UCT), University of Pretoria (UP), University of Johannesburg, University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and Wits University.
The University is also leading the pack among nine South African institutions featured on the list of 1,188 universities offering engineering. TUT is placed at number 398, followed by UJ at 442, North West University at 467, SU at 484, UCT at 638, UKZN at 697, UP at 740, Wits at 797 and the Durban University of Technology at 846.
Prof Lourens van Staden, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, said the University is doing very well in many spheres. “Indeed, we are on the right path.
