Pakiso Motau after casting a vote at the Convocation election.
“We are ready to deliver on our mandate as elected Council members during our four-year term,” the two said after their election.
Motau (26), a former Ga-Rankuwa Campus SRC member, holds a B Tech Internal Auditing from TUT, as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Internal Auditing from UNISA. He currently works as an internal audit consultant in the private sector.
Sibanda (32), a former Institutional SRC member, has a B Tech in Marketing from TUT and is currently studying towards an Honours degree in Public Management at the North West University. He has occupied many roles in organisations like University Sport South Africa, the South African Student Congress and the African National Congress Youth League. He is now a Business Mentorship Officer at the National Youth Development Agency.
Motau said as a Convocation presentative on Council, his responsibilities would include ensuring that TUT graduates are well represented in all spheres of life. “Council also needs regular, up-to-date information on what is happening with TUT graduates. This will be one of the responsibilities on my to-do-list,” he added.
According to Sibanda, information is power. “The first point of departure will be to ensure all graduates are aware of the Convocation, its role and responsibilities as well as how it could assist them in moving forward,” he concluded.
