In his address, Karel, who is specialising in Law and Policy Development, will look at “The implications of the Higher Education Qualification Sub-Framework (HEQSF) Act on Human and Financial Resources”.
Danielle, who specialises in Early Childhood Development, is a Foundation Programme teacher at a Curro school. She will deliver a paper focusing on “The influence of Retrospective Parenting on Parenting Styles and a Young Child’s Behaviour”.
Both will present on the first day of the Conference, 15 November.
Sharing their story, an exited Karel says, “There was an instant connection when we met in a Master’s class at the University of Pretoria in 2016. We share a passion for education and ever since we met, we wanted to present together at an international conference. After we got married in March, I applied to present at the ICTLE and convinced Danielle to apply too. Two weeks after my proposal was accepted, she received confirmation that she was accepted.”
As a Quality Officer, Karel works extensively with Professional Bodies and Heads of Departments to ensure that all qualifications offered at the Faculty are compliant with market needs and accredited. For the past two years, he has been closely involved with TUT’s Project 2020, specifically in finalising a new fee structure towards the financial viability of the University.
