TUT’s Football teams wrap year up in style

The Tshwane University of Technology Varsity Football club has triumphed again on Saturday, 10 November, thrashing the highly ranked ABC Motsepe outfit Dondol Stars 2-1. This ensured them a spot in the provisional draw of the Nedbank Cup’s Last 32 round. 

The women also demonstrated why they are widely recognised as the country’s national women’s team, winning the 2018 Sasol League to become the Gauteng Champions. 

Both teams dominated the 2018 Varsity Football competition, winning trophy’s for the male and female genders.

The TUT ladies’ maintained a sterling record in the 30 matches they played, having won 27, drawn one and lost just two, all season long. The TUT Women’s Football club finished on top of the Gauteng table with 82 points – one above Mamelodi Sundown’s Ladies FC.

Another highlight is TUT’s Hilda Magaia and Busi Ndimeni who are currently in Ghana with the Banyana Banyana team that will participate at the African Women’s Cup of Nations  (AWC) from 17 November to 1 December 2018.
