Bieldt broke the South African 100m hurdles record - previously set by Rikenette Steenkamp in 2018, at 12:81. She clocked at 12:76, breaking the five-year old record and qualifying for the 2023 World Championships in Budapest.  Bieldt also set a new meeting record in the 200m Women at 23:13.

Undeniably one of the most brilliant and talented sprinters of her generation, Bieldt has competed in the 200m (23:13), 400m (53:02), 800m (2:19.09), 400m hurdles (55:82) and 100m hurdles this season.

Congratulating Bieldt on her brilliant wins, Prof Tinyiko Maluleke, TUT’s Vice-Chancellor and Principal, said Bieldt was the epitome of the future-ready TUT graduate, performing brilliantly in both sport and academics. “She makes us proud and we look forward to welcoming her back on campus with pomp and ceremony,” he said.
