TUT Alumna appointed in top SAFA position

The South African Football Association (SAFA) in the Free State, has seen a historical change of leadership with the appointment of its first ever female provincial executive officer, Mosa Dladla. An alumna from TUT’s Faculty of Management Sciences, Dladla took up this influential administrative position on 1 August.

Mosa Dladla.

Her appointment fittingly coincided with Women’s Month.

The Bloemfontein-born Dladla previously served as the regional secretary of SAFA in Mangaung.

Part of her new role will entail the coordination of local football associations and the five regions in the Free State. She will work with both men and women clubs.

Dladla has a TUT Diploma in Sport Management and a BTech qualification in Project Management from the Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State, as well as a FIFA administration certificate.

She says she is grateful to SAFA’s provincial leadership for their faith in her “to help steer the massive ship”.

Acknowledging what a challenge achieving female participation is, Dladla says leadership now recognises the importance of and the role women play in the association.

The University is proud of Dladla and wishes her all the best in her new endeavour.
