The Tshwane University of Technology’s newly appointed Financial Director of Expenditure, Faith Mashele.
"I am delighted to join the institution. My vast experience in policy design, process optimisation, strategic sourcing, and business analysis will come in handy in shaping and assisting the University to meet its financial obligations," said Mashele.
She added that, although the core principles of financial management are largely the same across industries, one of the immediate challenges is to adapt to new ways and processes that the Higher Education landscape apply.
“Steve Jobs once said that great things are never done by one person but a team of people. This resonates well with TUT’s goals of promoting mutually beneficial academic, social and economic partnerships. I look forward to learn from others and share knowledge in a way that will contribute positively to the University,” Mashele added.
Before joining TUT, Mashele was employed as a Procurement Governance and Compliance Specialist at the Industrial Development Corporation.
She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from GIBS, a Hons B Com Degree in Financial Accounting and a B Com degree from WITS University.
Faith is currently a PhD candidate at WITS University. Her research interests are Sustainable Procurement and Inclusive Business.
