Management of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) took a firm decision this morning that activities for staff and students will continue at all TUT campuses on 5 September 2018. TUT remains committed to the quality of its education and training and cannot allow it to be compromised by ongoing protest action. The decision follows disruptions experienced at the Pretoria and Soshanguve campuses yesterday and again today.
In view of the limited time left to complete the academic programme, it is vital that the academic project continues without further interruptions. The remainder of the week will therefore be dedicated to lecturing activities and catch-up for time lost during the week of mourning last week, and the disruptions experienced over the past two days.
Any person responsible for disruptions to the academic project and damage to property will face disciplinary and legal consequences.
A contingency plan has been put in place to ensure that our students are able to safely attend class, and that staff are able to work, without further interruptions.
