The Tshwane University of Technology’s (TUT) Advancement and Partnerships Office (APO) hosted its second annual Pretoria Fundraising Golf Day event at Woodhill Residential Estate and Country Club on Thursday, 26 October 2023.

The philanthropic event was introduced to raise money to further augment the institution’s bursaries and scholarships as well as assist in minimising the financial debt of students not funded by NSFAS or other external bursaries.

The University is privileged to be supported by corporations, alumni, convocation, staff and students towards raising funds for needy students. “On behalf of TUT, we would like to thank all stakeholders for the donations, sponsorships and In-Kind support towards the TUT Pretoria Annual Fundraising Golf Day. Your contributions will make a difference in supporting TUT students and we look forward to a continued positive relationship with all stakeholders involved,” said Mr Lion Phasa, Deputy Chairperson of the TUT Council.

The hardship alleviation flagship project of the APO has attracted like-minded Alumni from all walks of life who are committed to giving back to their Alma mater.

The University was able to host a successful fundraising golf day through the support of a platinum sponsorship from ABSA Bank, Telkom and Khanya Africa Networks who were among the top sponsors. The University would like to recognise, PPS, Metropolitan, Vunani Fund Managers, Ashburton Investments, Old Mutual, Standard Bank and Fundi who also contributed to the success of the event.
