ICT celebrates bright minds during Spring graduations

The Tshwane University of Technology’s (TUT) Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FoICT), celebrated successes of the newest batch of graduates who are ready to take the tech world by storm. The group of 480 graduates who have finished their studies, received their qualifications at the Ruth First Hall, Soshanguve South Campus during the Spring Graduations on 9 October 2023.

The group of newly qualified ICT graduates have hit the ground running with several of them who have already started innovative research projects focused on cutting-edge technologies including artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). In addition to benefiting the academic community, their work has the potential to influence the future development of the Information Technology (IT) sectors.

This group has showed extraordinary talent, commitment and creativity while also demonstrating academic brilliance and resilience. They have excelled while dealing with demanding academics, difficult assignments, varying stages of loadshedding and the highly competitive tech environment. They are future-ready and have mastered the fundamentals of ICT, including programming, cybersecurity, data analysis, hacking and more. The world lies open ahead of these graduates with countless opportunities and challenges waiting!

Due to excellent nature of their training, as well as TUT’s close relationship with top business figures and FoICT alumni, graduates get the opportunity to work with well-known tech companies and also gain insight into the real-world applications of ICT, access to internships, co-op programs and research collaboration. 

The future is bright for these young people. TUT wishes them all the best as they embark on their professional careers and looks forward to them developing into the trend-setters and upcoming ICT leaders of the future.
