The Tshwane University of Technology and CSIR Cannabis Hub has been granted two hemp permits: one for cultivation and commercialisation and the other for research purposes. The permits will allow for the cultivation of hemp on up to 20 hectares of land.

Golden Key, the world’s largest collegiate honour society, recently awarded noble Key Status to the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), one of 15 active university and college chapters in South Africa. TUT’s Golden Key Chapter was established in 2020 under the leadership of Prof Ben van Wyk, DVC Teaching, Learning and Technology. Thabelo allegedly succumbed to injuries sustained at the hands of members of the South Africa Police Services (SAPS).
