The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) is pleased to announce that Minister in the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), Honourable Ronald Lamola will deliver a keynote address at the annual legacy lecture to honour and celebrate the legacy and times of Dr Tlou TT Cholo. The event will take place at the Freedom Park Heritage site, on 11 October 2024.

Mmatumelo Lebjane speaks to Oupa Segalwe, TUT journalism alumnus and the author of the controversial, yet mind-blowing unauthorised biography titled “Lucas Mangope: A Life”.

Oupa Segalwe, Head of Communication and Stakeholder Relations at the South African Weather Service (SAWS) is a journalism and communication expert known for his effective communication skills. Before joining the SAWS, he worked as the Spokesperson for the Office of the Public Protector, SA for about 13 years.

The Faculty of Science at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), in partnership with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP), actively participated in the 2024 Annual Science Week, held from 30 September to 5 October. This year’s theme, “Living in a High-Tech World: Should We Be Concerned?”, inspired engaging discussions and activities that aimed to connect science with everyday life. The event showcased the Faculty’s role in promoting technological literacy and education, while also encouraging reflection on the social and ethical implications of modern technological advancements.

The Golden Key International Honor Society (GKIHS) welcomed 59 alumni during the New Member recognition ceremony held at Pretoria Campus on Tuesday. An audience of at least 200 friends, families and lecturers from various Faculties cheered as the academic high-flyers ascended the stage to be inducted into the TUT Golden Key Chapter.

The Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), Prof Tinyiko Maluleke penned down a personal message to the newly minted graduates as the spring graduation season commences today, 8 October 2024.

TUT alumna, Dr Tribute ‘Birdie’ Mboweni, a multi-talented artist and anthropologist, has released a special tribute in celebration of Heritage Month.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Dr Birdie shared the inspiration behind her modern rendition of the iconic Xitsonga song ‘Nghwenyama’, originally performed by the late Mhani Madyakubomba.

Thanks to machine learning and deep learning, AI applications can learn from data and can provide results in near real-time, analysing new information from many sources and adapting accordingly with a level of accuracy that's invaluable to business.
