The International University Sports Federation (FISU), has awarded the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) the prestigious FISU Healthy Campus Gold Label certification, recognising its exceptional dedication to health, wellness and holistic student development.

Guided by the FISU Healthy Campus programme, TUT has exceeded rigorous international wellness benchmarks.

Advancing from its previous Silver Label, TUT stands out in promoting physical activity, mental health, nutrition, disease prevention, sustainability and community engagement. 

“This achievement reflects TUT’s commitment to the comprehensive well-being of students, encompassing the physical, nutritional, psychological and mental dimensions of life”, said Prof Tinyiko Maluleke, TUT’s Vice-Chancellor and Principal.

Spearheaded by the Directorate of Sport and Recreation, TUT’s initiatives to promote overall well-being of students and staff, include expanded fitness programmes, enhanced mental health support and sustainable practices, encouraging a dynamic and inclusive campus culture.

With its sights firmly set on the Platinum Label, TUT continues to build a comprehensive, resilient learning community.
