Four academic staff members from the Tshwane University of Technology’s (TUT) Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment (FEBE) have been selected to participate in the prestigious Erasmus+ Staff Exchange Programme with Eskişehir Technical University (ESTU) in Turkey.
This international exchange is designed to strengthen academic partnerships, encourage innovation in teaching and research and promote cultural exchange, all of which support TUT’s broader internationalisation goals.
Following a competitive selection process, the chosen staff members represent a variety of disciplines, including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering. Their selection highlights TUT’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and global collaboration.
Two of the participants’ exchange visits at ESTU already started in June 2025. Their activities include collaborative research, guest lectures and curriculum development with their peers at the host university. These engagements will enhance their professional growth while also opening doors for long-term cooperation between TUT and ESTU.The other two participants are set to begin their exchange in July 2025, continuing the momentum of this exciting partnership.
Dr Vathiswa Papu-Zamxaka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Engagement, shared her thoughts on the significance of the programme, saying: “This exchange is not just a milestone for individual development but a strategic step towards deepening our institutional links and broadening the impact of our academic offerings globally.”
TUT would like to congratulate the four staff members and look forward to the knowledge and insights they will bring back to support the University’s growth and enrich the student experience.
