“Web development is more than just coding - it is also about bringing ideas to life and making a tangible impact on society.” For Bontle Moloi, this passion was ignited while studying at the Tshwane University of Technology. During this time, she was introduced to comprehensive web development modules and under the guidance of exceptional lecturers at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FoICT), she discovered the depths of the world of web development and the infinite possibilities it offers.
As a young woman in ICT, Bontle has faced challenges, particularly in managing her time effectively. However, being part of a hacker society and attending tech events has been transformative, opening doors to new opportunities and shaping her career in unexpected ways. One such moment was in September 2024, when she attended the South African Innovation Summit where she met Philip Reitinger, CEO of Global Cyber Alliance, a leading tech organisation based in the United States. This encounter led to an incredible opportunity - she became an intern at Global Cyber Alliance, gaining valuable experience in the global tech landscape.
Her journey didn’t stop there though. She joined Women in AI Southern Africa, an organisation dedicated to empowering women in the field of artificial intelligence. Her association with this organisation provided the platform for her to host a session on web development on 24 April 2025, sharing her insights and expertise with aspiring developers. During the session, she explored the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and artificial intelligence, demonstrating its potential in enhancing web experiences.
The overwhelming response to her hosting this online session on web development fueled her enthusiasm even more and inspired her to plan a follow-up session focused on JavaScript and website deployment.
Bontle is particularly excited about the role of artificial intelligence in web development. Rather than viewing AI as a threat, she sees it as a catalyst for innovation, encouraging developers to think creatively and push boundaries. AI has the potential to revolutionise the industry, making websites more intuitive, responsive and user-friendly.
Her advice to young, aspiring web developers, especially women, is simple yet powerful: “Embrace your uniqueness. By discovering what sets you apart, you can carve out your own space in the industry, develop a distinctive style and create work that leaves a lasting impression.”
Bontle Moloi’s journey is demonstrates the power of passion, perseverance and continuous learning. As her journey to explore new frontiers in web development and artificial intelligence continues, she remains committed to inspiring others and shaping the future of technology.

Web development enthusiast, Bontle Moloi.
