Informatics, is science of processing data for storage and retrieval it concerns itself with how information is collected, stored, manipulated, classified, organized, retrieved, and visualized. The department of Informatics at TUT seeks to maintain a national and an internationally recognized level of excellence in both research and teaching.
The department fosters a diverse academic environment to support students to be the best they can and advance their career in the computing domain. Our students are equipped with skills to enable them develop software and hardware systems that make it possible for a business to function more effectively from an IT perspective that consequently enable organizations with competitive advantage based on superior application of IT.
The department offers a comprehensive postgraduate programme that enable students to develop high level analytical, research, strategic planning and project management skills and improve their ability to design, plan and organise technology based projects. The department of the Informatics staff are always committed to excellent teaching, staff development, research and Community engagement.
