About the Department
An industrial engineering qualification at TUT arms students with a rock-solid footing in the discipline of engineering, employing emphasis on emerging critical techniques and comprehensive problem solving skills. Industrial engineering is primarily about the effective and efficient utilisation of resources in both production and service-orientated enterprises.
The following are essential elements for professionals in the ﬁeld of industrial engineering: Design, development and industrialisation of new production or service delivery systems, participation in continuous improvement programmes, project management, quality management, technical and economic feasibility studies, management of operational and support functions, logistics engineering supply chain management, facility layout planning.
