Make sure to visit the Pretoria Art Museum to view an exhibition featuring the work of six current students and one alumni student of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts. Kutlwano Monyai, pictured here with some of her artworks (on the right), are one of the participating artists.
The exhibition is the second instalment since the 2003 edition when the first group of volunteers unconventionally proposed to the museum to have their own exhibition as one of the benefits for giving their time to the museum. The name Genesis was picked to signify the endless possibilities for the participating artists at the outset of their careers.
The exhibition comprises paintings, drawings, photography and mixed media and features works straddling themes particularly concerned with spirituality and identity.
The participating artists are Mbhoni Khosa, Lerato Lodi, Isaac Nyokong, Kutlwano Monyai, Lesedi Ledwaba (alumni), Tebogo Setsiba, Bruce Bowale and Asma Rahman.
The exhibition is hosted in the Preiss Hall of the museum until 1 July.
The Pretoria Art Museum is situated at the corner of Francis Baard and Wessels Street, Arcadia Park, Arcadia.
