Electronic Product Development

​​One of the primary functions of the station is to assist clients with product development. The development team is able to translate client’s ideas from concept to pre-commercialisation.

The station prides itself on incorporating the latest standards and industry norms and has developed its team to include a number of IPC Certified Interconnect Designers (CID & CID+). The team is supported with a number of industry leading testing and development platforms and works on well-known development platforms used by leading development organisation around the world. This enables the station to provide the following services within the product development environment:

  • ​Needs analysis and specification development
  • Electronic Hardware Development
  • Software and Firmware Development
  • Mechanical Development
  • Test and Measurement Services​
    ​

​The teams experience includes but are not limited to the following technologies:​​

  • ​8/16/32 Bit Microcontroller Technologies
  • FPGA design
  • GPS technologies
  • GSM technologies
  • Wireless transceiver technologies
  • Various sensor and actuator technologies
  • C/C++ software languages
    ​
​The testing and measurement platform used for testing and development activities include:​
  • Keysight MSO, S-Series, 4 Channel ,2.5GHz Oscilliscope with 400Mpts Memory Upgrade
      • The Instrument also has the DSA Software Bundle
  • Keysight 7.5GHz CXA Spectrum Analyzer with 25Mhz Bandwidth Upgrade
      • ​The Analyzer also has the EMI Measurement Application and Hardware
  • Keysight 6GHz RF Vector Signal Generator
  • Keysight ENA Series Bench 4 Port 6.5 GHz Vector Network Analyzer
  • Keysight Fieldfox 6.5GHz combo RF Analyzer 
      • The Instrument also has the Network Analyzer Upgrade
  • Fluke Ti-400 Thermal Camera​
    ​

With this equipment the station is able to perform a number of tests required for compliance testing within the electronic product space. Test include, but are not limited to:

  • ​Conducted and Radiated EMI tests
  • Spectrum Analysis up to 7.5 GHz
  • 4 Port System Analysis up to 6.5 GHz
  • Protocol Analysis
  • Signal Integrity Analysis
  • Thermal Analysis Measurements​​

After prototyping has been completed clients tend to require assistance in preparation for conducting a pilot study to determine if further improvement is needed. Once the pilot has been conducted the station assist clients with further product and specification improvement to improve the product or extend the product line offering.
