The sun shone kindly down for the event which went off without a hitch.
“We are always grateful for fundraising golf days like these, where we get the support of government, business, industry leaders, staff, students and alumni for this very important initiative,” said Dr Eric Pule, Director at the Advancement and Partnerships Office.
Over R500 000 (five hundred thousand) was raised at the event which will go a long way in supporting the University’s initiatives to help “our needy and academically deserving students”.Sponsors contributed various prizes on the day to appreciate the best golfers of the day. Some of the prizes included positions 1, 2 and 3, closest to the pin and longest drive.
The funds raised will go towards students’ registration fees, laptops and study material that will support them complete their studies at the University.
Dr Pule indicated that he was deeply grateful for the support and sponsorship received from corporate and other stakeholders that participated on the day.
