What is Horticulture about?
If you are passionate about cultivating garden and ornamental plants, such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, and nursery crops then a degree in Horticulture would fulfill your dreams. The Horticulture course at TUT combines academic and practical training in the field of growing ornamental horticulture for urban landscaping purposes. Students entering this degree learn how to breed and grow garden and ornamental plants and plant species with the right amount of moisture, nutrients and light.
Career opportunities include: Horticulturist, work in the wholesale trade (production), retail trade (sales), researcher, grounds superintendent, greenkeeper, manufacturing/sales.
