 If you wish to pursue a career in the production of animals and horses, the Department of Animal Sciences at the Tshwane University of Technology should be the higher institution of learning of your choice. This Department has an excellent record of training manpower for the different animal production industries for almost thirty years. This institution is the only of its kind that has been offering training in equine management in South Africa for more than fifteen years.

Qualifications from diploma up to doctorate level in both Animal Production and Equine Science can be obtained. All students enter at the three-year diploma level, the first two years of which consist of theory thoroughly blended with appropriate practical exposure. The third year, which comprises compulsory work-integrated learning, is completed at a suitable place of work over a twelve-month period. On completion of the B Tech in either Animal Production or Equine Science, a learner may apply for admission to an M Tech: Agriculture followed by a D Tech: Agriculture.
