This department offers the following undergraduate programmes:

Human Resources Management, Contact Centre Management, Labour Relations, and Human Resource Development (a four-year qualification).

The above programmes are offered at postgraduate level as well.

This department also offers a foundation programme in Human Resources Management.

After completing the National Diploma in Human Resource Management, you will be able to take on responsibilities such as recruitment, development, remuneration, staff administration, planning and development in an organisation. You would, however, need good communication skills, be able to work well with all kinds of people, enjoy taking the lead, and be diplomatic and tolerant, but still able to act firmly in any situation.

When continuing with a B Tech in Human Resource Development you will be able to assist line managers to identify and improve the skills and motivation of employees, identify training needs and provide training to enhance individual careers.

With Contact Centre Management you will learn to understand the customer and develop a customer focus. You can be employed in a company as agents, contact service representatives or call centre officers.

The field of Labour Relations looks at the relationship between management and workers, particularly groups of workers represented by a labour union. Labour relations officers perform a variety of roles at both the operational and corporate levels, providing support to managers at all levels with regard to union/management relations, employee/employer relations and conflict resolution.
