Faculty of Economics and Finance

The overall objective of the Faculty of Economics and Finance is to produce job-ready graduates. In today's world, more than ever before, this simple statement has enormous implication regarding the knowledge base of the skills that we have to transfer to students. Within the context of the knowledge economy, and given the transformational requirements of South Africa and, indeed, the continent as a whole, it is imperative that we are at the forefront of knowledge of the various disciplines our the programmes draw from.  We are confident that we are active in this endeavour and that our efforts are evident in the quality of our graduates and the opportunities that arise for them when they emerge into the job market. 

Moreover, we strive to impart to our students a love of learning that we hope will become an integral part of their future development.  Only in this way, we believe, will we have fulfilled our full mission as educators.
