Message from the Director of the Business School

The TUT, which has evolved from the amalgamation of three distinguished South African technikons, is now one of the largest and more comprehensive institutions in Africa. In this tradition, the TUT Business School offers a range of highly rated real-world programmes. Of significance is the fact that TUT is currently the only university of technology that offers an accredited MBA degree programme in South Africa.

The TUT Business School is a successful, competitive entity that prides itself on the provision of quality, innovative programmes. A key feature of the Business School is its responsiveness to market demand. In this regard we propose to continually improve our existing and tested suite of programmes by including new programmes and electives in areas such as the environment and consumer marketing.

Our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Errol Tyobeka, and the Executive Management Committee (EMC) have approved a generous R13 million grant towards improving and expanding our existing facilities. This will allow the recruitment of additional highly qualified full-time staff and the introduction of new and innovative programmes. This climate of growth at the School makes it an exciting time to study at the TUT Business School.

As Director of the Business School, I invite you to study at our first-class premises in Pretoria with the knowledge that you will receive a relevant and practical qualification that is well respected by employers. I look forward to meeting you in person when you proceed to enrol in our programmes.

Professor  Kanes K Rajah
Director, Business School
